成語「公說公有理，婆說婆有理」的意思是指對於同一件事情，雙方僵持不下，堅持認為自己的看法及理論是對的，而在英文中，有句諺語叫作「There are two sides to every question」，其字麵上的意思是指一個錢幣有兩麵，引申的意思即為同樣一件事情，無可避免地必定有兩個不同的觀點、正反麵嚮，意思與成語「公說公有理，婆說婆有理」相近，而在本單元中，可用來形容颱灣在死刑存廢這個議題上，不同團體以不同的觀點來看待其存廢的現象。
 
寫作題目 
 
In Taiwan, there have been multiple heated discussions on whether death penalty should be abolished or not.
 
There are social groups urging for the abolition of death penalty, while on the other hand, there are those who strongly oppose the idea of abolishing this penalty.
 
For the social groups, they urge the abolition from more of a humanitarian standpoint. On the contrary, the opposing side fears the abolition would somehow become some sort of encouragement for committing serious crimes without corresponding consequences holding those offenders accountable.
 
Which side do you agree with on the abolition of death penalty in Taiwan? Please explain.
