From the Author
In the summer of 2012, I was in Thailand with my family on vacation. One afternoon, my daughter, Grace, and I were playing in the swimming pool while my wife enjoyed the sun by the poolside in a beach resort. At that time, Grace was learning how to swim.
“ Grace, focus please. “ I said, because I noticed my daughter distracted by others when practicing her swim.
A boy in the pool besides Grace immediately asked his mother,
“Mom, what is focus?”
His mother looked at me innocently and asked me,
“How old is your daughter?”
“She is three.” I replied and asked,
“How old is your boy?”
“He is five.”
That was the moment when I came up with the idea of writing a children’s book to help parents explain such an important concept to their children.
Attributing to my profession in the area of learning and development, I have always been able to turn important but hard to explain concepts into easy to understand language suitable for my daughter’s age. The book you are holding now is my journey with Grace on learning the concept of “focus”. I believe you can also use this book to help your children cultivate one of the most important qualities in life. The earlier they are aware of the concept of “focus”, the faster they will internalize this important quality.
