　　例2：花钱买爽 retail therapy
　　retail therapy 字面上的意思是「零售治疗」，是以戏谑的方式表示透过购物来舒缓压力，也就是我们说的「花钱买爽」啰。类似的说法还有 comfort buy/purchase（买来让自己心情变好的东西）。

　　特色二：望文不生义的道地美式口说句，解说到让你恍然大悟！

　　我们常看到（或听到）超简单，意思却令人不解的英文句子，心里总是嘀咕着「这句英文是什么意思？」，不然就是存有「这个字究竟要怎么用才对？」的疑问。在英文中有太多从字面上看不出意思的说法，以及一字多义的情况，想要融会理解，就需要英文灵通人士来解说与示范用法。「望文不生义的英文秘密情报」单元将以Q & A的形式，逐一解释这些让人似懂非懂的口说句。

　　例：a little bird told me 字面上是「一只小鸟告诉我的」，到底是什么意思呢？其实，这句话表示「据消息灵通人士称」或「有人私下告诉我」，a little bird 因此成为「秘密消息来源」的代名词。

　　Jacob: Yes. Why buy it for ＄8.99 a pound when you can get it for free? Ha-ha.
　　杰可：对，干嘛要花 8.99 美元买一磅根本免费的东西？哈哈！
　　Winnie: That is pretty funny. It was probably supposed to be “crab.” To Chinese speakers, “p” and “b” sound pretty similar.
　　温妮：真好笑，可能原本要写 crab（螃蟹）吧。对说中文的人来说，p 和 b 听起来差不多。
