　　这本专书集结陈明惠从2010年到2017年所策画的8个国际艺术展览，包含超过60位艺术家精湛的当代艺术创作。本书所收录的展览探讨借着科技之急速发展，科技艺术在视觉艺术界渐成为一重要创作形式，而艺术家作品涉及性别意识者，亦不同于过去早期女性主义者的创作思维，当代艺术家借着科技与新媒体之运用，以一种不同于过去艺术家之创作手法，来审视并呈现性别议题。透过当代展览策画，陈明惠呈现在数位化时代的新美学中，身体、性别议题已不同于过去的角度被策展人与艺术家解读与探讨。

陈明惠

　　国立成功大学创意产业设计研究所、科技艺术硕士学位学程副教授，成大艺术中心展览组组长。英国罗芙堡大学艺术史及理论哲学博士（英国政府ORS海外学人奖学金）。

　　曾任教于英国德蒙特福德大学，教授「批判与文本」，并受聘为美国纽约跨艺术机构之访问教师。以中、英文出版多篇文章于国际重要期刊与学术专书，包含：《East Asian Journal of Popular Culture》（2016）、《Else Art Journal》（2014）、《Triennial City》（曼特斯特：角落屋出版社，2014）、《n.paradoxa》（2010、2012）、《西方女性研究》（北京：人民大学出版社，2011）、《Gender and Women’s Leadership》（Sage，2010），主编《跨界：当代艺术中的游转与乡愁》（典藏，2015）。同时是国际策展人，已完成多个策展计划。

　　Ming Turner is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Creative Industries Design and Techono Art Program at National Cheng Kung University(NCKU),and is also the Head of Exhibition at NCKU Art Centre. She was awarded her PhD in Art History and Theory at Loughborough University,UK.She lectured Critical and Contextual Studies at De Montfort University,UK,and was a visiting faculty at Transart Institute in New York.She has published widely in both English and Chinese,including East Asian Journal of Popular Culture(2016),Else Art Journal(2014),Triennial City(Manchester:Cornerhouse,2014),n.paradoxa(2010,2012),Women’s Studies in the West(Beijing:People’s University Press,2011),Gender and Women’s Leadership(Sage,2010).She is also the main editor of Crossing Borders:Transition and Nostalgia in Contemporary Art (with Dr.Outi Remes,2015).As a curator,she has completed several international projects.

导论：策展作为一种当代艺术实践的学门

我不断地告诉自己，事实上，展览可以被视为是消失的所指(signified)之一个符号(sign)。

「策展」目前正面临一种认同危机，因这个词目前也被许多艺术文化行政之外的领域所引用。策展是个当代艺术重要学门，策展的历史也正在被书写中，且因为当代策展目前正以极多样的面貌进行，关于策展的论述与脉络整理更有其迫切性。

本书不仅介绍由笔者所策划的 8 个展览，更分析策展执行实务面。本导论将介绍策展过去发展历史，并且分析「策展人即艺术家」观点，亦即策展人的策展行动本身即相当于是一种艺术创作，策展人与艺术家身分之间的暧昧性与相互重叠性，以唿应本书标题所採用的「当代策展艺术」一词。另外，基于当代展览策划在过去二十多年逐渐在当代艺术界形塑出一股重要的影响力，本导论亦会介绍国际上具代表性的策展教育机构，并且依本书所介绍的展览为例，依笔者自身的实务经验，分析展览策划的实务执行面向与细节，期望本书能呈现笔者在策展的理论研究及实质执行技术面上的介绍与分析，进而对于台湾当代策展研究有所贡献。

一、历史脉络
　　
已故重要瑞士策展人、艺术史学者及艺术家哈拉德．西门(Harald Szeemann)于2001年由纽约的国际独立策展人组织(Independent Curator’s International)所出版的《智慧的话语：策展人的当代艺术手册》(Words of Wisdom: A Curator’s Vade Mecum on Contemporary Art)一书中指出，要了解策展，必须先从它(curator)的字根探讨起，而其字根是curare或是cura，代表「照顾」(to take care of)，因此策展人这个字，一直存在着照顾、照料的意含。
