《诗经》是现存世界文学中最早的诗歌文本，其中有些诗作已有三千年之久。全球知名的海洋生物学家贾福相先生，闲暇时研读诗经十余年，悟出隐藏在诗经文字背后的生物密码与天地自然律令，遂将国风一百六十篇反覆咀嚼，逐篇译成白话中文和英文，于2008年出版了《诗经国风：英文白话新译》。在北美各地推广该书之余，又继续创作出《把诗还给诗经》这本双语小书。最重要的目的，第一是跟读者介绍并推广诗经；第二是提供西方教中文、中国教英文的语言学校师生参考。

　　本书共收录二十二篇短文和诗歌，书名出自第一篇散文〈把诗还给诗经〉，传达作者翻译经典的心得，以及对生物多样和生态的看法。

　　Besides sharing literary appreciation with readers, this small, bilingual book has two other objectives: to reintroduce and to promote “The Airs of the States” from the Shi Jing; and to provide a reference for teachers and students in Western schools teaching Chinese and schools in China teaching English. The book includes other essays and poems the author has written during recent years, most of them are related to translations of the Shi Jing. Others express Dr Chia’s philosophy on biodiversity and human culture.

作者简介

贾福相

　　笔名庄稼，一九三一年生于山东省寿光县贾家庄。台湾师范大学生物系毕业，美国西雅图华盛顿大学硕士、博士。曾任加州三可门脱大学助教授（1964-1966），英国新堡大学及达夫海洋研究所高级研究员（1966-1969），加拿大亚伯达大学助教授、副教授、正教授（并曾兼任动物系系主任五年，研究生院院长九年，1969-1993），香港科技大学教授（1993-1996），台北海洋馆馆长（1996-1999）。一九九七年教职退休后定居加拿大，每天散步、读诗、写文章，也为几所大学作些义工。曾被列入五种世界名人录。指导硕士生十五人，博士生十八人，博士后二十二人。曾发表海洋生物论文两百零三篇，编着参考书四本，着有《独饮也风流》、《吹在风里》、《看海的人》、《星移几度》等散文集，译有《诗经国风：英文白话新译》。
