颱中市發展的曆史，跟颱中車站的曆史息息相關，從日治時代開始，颱中車站前麵沿綫，
就是颱中市最繁華的商業區，商業活動盛極一時，中區的居民非富即貴，自己小時候也見證到當時的繁華，麵積不到一平方公裏的中區，
有電影院跟百貨公司的密度全颱灣最高，這點連首都颱北都比不上。
