出生于美国芝加哥，拥有伊利诺大学课程与教学博士学位（University of Illinois, Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction）。曾任教于国中、高中和各大专院校，1999年移居台湾，现在于世新大学英文系担任副教授，曾出版多本英文学习书籍。
