Unit 1　Punctuation　标点符号

I. Periods / Full Stops (.)　句号
A period is the most commonly used punctuation mark which is used at the end of a declarative sentence.
句号标于句意完整的平述句句尾。

I am a university student.
John enjoys reading.
Mary went to see a movie last night.
Shih Chien University is located in Taipei.
Time flies like an arrow.

II. Question Marks (?)　问号
A question mark is used at the end of a question.
问号标于问句的句尾。

What does John enjoy doing?
Is this book yours?
What do you usually do in the weekend?
Why were you late for the meeting this morning?
Did you miss the school bus this morning?

III. Exclamation Marks (!)　感叹号
An exclamation mark is used at the end of an exclamation. However, it is less common in the academic writing.
感叹号标于感叹句的句尾。但是，在正式学术写作时，极少用此标点符号。
