Whew! It’s hot here! Finally, we have weather like in Taiwan. Daddy bought me a little pool for our yard, but I need a swimming suit! When I was little, I could swim with nothing on. But Mommy says now that I’m a big boy and we have neighbors, I should have a suit. We went to the mall to look for one, and there were so many choices. Would I like stripes, letters and numbers, penguins, dolphins, camouflage? No, not camouflage. How about ninjas? Or Spiderman, or Batman? I just can’t decide! Mommy, look! Angry Birds. WOLA! That‘s what I want. So now, there’s a little angry bird swimming around and laughing all afternoon in our pool.

唿！好热噢！天气终于跟台湾一样热。爸爸在我们的庭院买了一个小游泳池给我玩，但我现在需要一件泳裤！当我还小的时候，我都是光熘熘的玩。但是，现在妈妈说我是一个大男孩，我们有邻居，我应该要穿泳裤玩。我们去购物中心找我的泳裤，然后有好多的选择耶！我到底是要选条纹的、字母的、数字的、企鹅的、海豚的、还是迷彩衣的呢？不，不要迷彩衣。那忍者泳裤如何？还是蜘蛛人或蝙蝠侠？我无法决定啊！妈咪，你看！愤怒鸟。哇呜！那是我想要的。购物后的下午，有只火红的小小愤怒鸟在我家泳池里欢笑游泳着 。

All About Me

Melvin在夏天都会做一个小小劳作，那就是冰船啦！什么是冰船呢？就是用冰块做的小帆船，做好之后可以放在游泳池里跟你一起玩水哦！快来动手做做看吧！

One day, I made these ice boats and floated them in the pool. You can make them, too. Here’s how:
有一天，我动手做这些冰船，让它们漂在我的小小游泳池。你也可以试试看喔。做法如下：

You’ll need:
你需要的材料：
• a plastic cup一个塑胶杯
• bendable straw可弯曲的吸管
• tape胶带
• paper for the sail纸（可以剪下来当帆）
• scissors剪刀
• hole punch打孔器

Step 1 Bend the straw and tape the short end to the inside bottom of the cup.
弄弯吸管，把吸管贴到杯底。

Step 2 Fill the cup with water and put it in the freezer for a few hours.
把杯子装满水，并冷冻几个小时。

Step 3 When it’s frozen, remove the ice by running water on the outside of the cup.
当它冷冻好了，浇水取出冰块。

Step 4 Cut a sail from the paper and use a hole punch to make two holes for the straw to go through.
从纸上剪下帆并用打孔机打两个洞，让吸管穿过纸帆。

Step 5 Put the ice boat into the pool. You can swim with it.
把冰船放入游泳池里。你可以跟冰船一起游泳啰。
